Job description:
- Assist a plumber with residential and commercial plumbing repairs and installation of plumbing systems, including repairs of plumbing fixtures, faucets, water closets, water heaters, tub/shower valves and other plumbing fixtures and connections.
- Learn about complete roughin and completion of plumbing fixtures including underground, crawl space and exposed drain, vent, gas, and water supply lines to all fixtures.
- Learn the proper installation of drain, vent, and water lines to supply properly sized and installed drain and water lines, freeze and movement protection, proper slope and drainage piping and completion of plumbing systems.
- Learn different piping, including PVC, black steel, copper, Pex and more
- Learn proper support, installation, and connection of each system to meet code requirements.
- Will become familiar with tools, terminology, truck and warehouse stocking,
- Will learn cleaning and maintenance of tools, jobsites, vehicles, and warehouse areas.
- Learn proper invoicing and estimating for plumbing problems or additions.
- Will learn to troubleshoot drain, vent, and fixture problems and solutions via video inspection, drain and sewer line cleaning, and repairs.
- Will learn the cause of plumbing issues and the remedies for these issues.
- Will learn basic HVAC activities
Requirements:
- 18 years of age
- No minimum education but must be prepared to obtain a GED or high school diploma after hire
- Some vocational training or current enrollment in vocational training is advantageous
- Must be able to work in difficult, tight, hot, cold and often dirty conditions
Hours: Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm – flexible hours
Attire: Jeans, t-shirts (no graphics/wording) and work boots, short hair or long hair must be pulled back for safety reasons. Safety glasses and gloves provided by employer
Wage: $14/hr
