Summary/Objective
The Development Coordinator Intern is responsible for helping oversee database management including
gift and donor data entry, reporting and analysis of donations through our CRM. The position
will also assist in donor recognition, stewardship, development and implementation of events,
community relations and assistance with marketing of the programs, services, and fundraising
opportunities, and any activities related to development department.
Essential Functions
1. Process gifts and receipt acknowledgement
2. Generate and track acknowledgement and tribute letters for gifts
3. Manage communications and pertinent lists
4. Assist with all mailing lists; including renewals, invitations, direct mail
correspondence, mail merges and other administrative responsibilities as assigned
5. Coordinate with development director to ensure accurate list management and reporting
6. Utilize CRM support to efficiently ensure accuracy and timely reporting to meet the
needs of department
7. Provide administrative support to development department; including, but not limited to
letters of intent, proposals, matching gift requests, processing, pledge and
payment reminder and other mailings
8. Assist with ongoing maintenance of all records in CRM donor database system
9. Reconcile revenue with accounting department on a monthly basis.
10. Research and assist with fundraising opportunities.
11. Maintain Development phone line and email account

10. Sales minded and ability to converse / people skills are a must

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment or at various event sites. This role
routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing
cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires
extended periods of sitting and standing. The employee must also occasionally lift and move up
to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time, hourly position. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. Some early morning, nights and weekends may be required.
Required Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma & attending college/university or college degree
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Associate Degree or higher or currently attending college
2. Experience with computers/Technology
3. Experience in sales
4. People oriented
