JOB TITLE: Clinic Clerk

DEPARTMENT: Family Care Clinic/Walk-In Clinic/Sanderson

JOB SUMMARY: Performs patient registration and scheduling of services for patients at the Family Care Clinic. Processes and files admission records and acts as a liaison with patient, family members or responsible party. Performs duties involved in receiving payments from patients, accounting for and depositing payments, and assuring payment information is reflected accurately on patients’ accounts. Performs data entry of patient charges and relevant patient data.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education: High School graduate or equivalent, read and write English.

B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Operation of ten-key adding machine/calculator, typing speed of 40 wpm and knowledge of general clerical duties. Computer literacy for data entry and knowledge of basic computer operations. Effective telephone communication skills, fax machine operations, and shredding skills.

C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required.

D. Experience:

1. Prior Work Experience: One year office/clinical experience in a medical setting preferred, or recent training in a similar field required. Bi-lingual preferred.

2. Technical Training: None required.

3. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting and standing. Some bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 45 pounds. The ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
